Auditions for The Nutcracker
Auditions for The Nutcracker
Ballet d'Jèrri is searching for community performers to join them on stage in November 2026 in a new production of the seasonal classic, The Nutcracker.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a creative process and perform on the Jersey Opera House stage in a large-scale professional ballet production; no previous dance experience is required.
- Audition date: Saturday 14th March 2026
- Location: BDJ studio at the Jersey Opera House
- Sessions:
- 12:00–13:30: Children 11-13 years old
- 13:45–15:15: Children 11-13 years old
- 16:00–18:00: Adults (18+, all levels)
Spaces are limited for each session, and registration is first come, first served. All participants must register in advance via Eventbrite. Walk-ins cannot be guaranteed a place. Rehearsals will be age-appropriate, supervised, and professionally run.
Auditions will be welcoming and accessible, focusing on:
- Drama and expression through movement
- Movement quality and musicality
- Confidence and stage presence
- Willingness to engage and work as part of a group
Selected performers will:
- Perform alongside the professional dancers of Ballet d'Jèrri
- Take part in structured, supportive rehearsals
- Be expected to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule
These auditions are for community performance roles, not professional dancer roles. Involvement is voluntary and unpaid.
Initial development rehearsal period: 27th-31st July, day time; final rehearsals will be scheduled at a later date but will take place in October and November in the evenings.
Performance dates: 26th November (evening), 27th November (evening), 28th November (matinee and evening), and 29th November (matinee).
