Bubbletecture Installation - Ballet d'Jèrri Appearance - 6th September
ArtHouse Jersey is transforming the IFC2 plaza into an iridescent wonderland this late summer.
Imagine eight-meter‑high shimmering bubbles, wrapped in bespoke sound and light – and Ballet d'Jèrri's dancers in motion between them. It’s public art turned performative playground, ripe for all ages!
Artist spotlight – Atelier Sisu
Sydney‑based duo Renzo B. Larriviere & Zara Pasfield (Atelier Sisu) create Bubbletecture, a poetic fusion of art, architecture, play and place. Their floating spheres respond to light and invite the public into a tactile, joyful encounter.
Choreographer – Jamaal Burkmar
"Music and movement in electric conversation" is how NSCD grad Jamaal Burkmar describes his signature style. From early acclaim for Ocean to winning the New Adventures Choreographer Award and touring UK with Extended Play, Burkmar brings bold, kinetic, music-driven movement seamlessly into this ethereal setting.
Dancers – Ballet d’Jèrri
Here's where the dancing comes in! The Ballet d’Jèrri dancers are stepping in to help animate this glowing playground with new choreography from Burkmar – a first‑of‑its‑kind site‑specific moment, free and open to all, every weekend across the Bubbletecture installation.
Location: IFC 2 plaza, Esplanade, St. Helier
Appearance timings: 12:00 - 12:30
Ballet d’Jèrri is part of a great lineup of musicians, DJs, yoga classes, children's activities, and much more that will be taking place between 28th August and 14th September at Bubbletecture. For full information please visit the ArtHouse Jersey website.
