She Rose: Dance Language and Landscape - Performance Day One
She Rose: Dance Language and Landscape - Performance Day One
She Rose invites Jersey residents to join internationally renowned Welsh dancer Sioned Huws along with the singing bodies of two Breton singers, Sterenn Diridollou and Marine Lavigne, and Azenor Kallag, a Breton dancer, in creating a collective dance.
Everyone - whether they do or don't have a background in dance - is welcome to join and weave a thread, by way of their bodies, with Jèrriais. Breton dance serves as both a guide and a metaphor: a thread that holds together the edges of landscape, language, and the body. The choreography is not predeternimed, but instead, emerges from the collective spirit of those who respond to the invitation.
This performance will take place on Friday 2nd May at 18:00 by Cyril Le Marquand Court (the outdoor square near Jersey Arts Centre) and audience members are welcome to join in.
Free to attend, no booking required.
Produced by The Moving Arts Collective. Supported by the Jersey Community Foundation with funds from the Channel Islands Lottery' and the Government of Jersey's Creative Island Partnership, and with two artist residencies hosted by ArtHouse Jersey.
