SOMA Jersey Autumn Programme: Journey of the Magi - A Laban Movement Choir (New Date)

Join Susi Thornton, LMCP, for a unique 'Dance in a Day' experience based on T.S. Eliot’s evocative poem Journey of the Magi. New date: Saturday 17th January 2026.

Through guided exploration, improvisation, and group movement, participants will collectively create a dance that follows the stages of the Magi’s journey - beginning with the inspiration to set out, facing challenges and upheavals along the way. As relationships are tested and memories of happier times arise, the question emerges: should they continue? Ultimately, the journey moves forward with renewed awareness, culminating in an arrival filled with light, adoration, and perhaps an ending.

The day will include opportunities for improvisation and collaborative creation, with the final session offering a group 'performance' of the journey. Friends and family are welcome to attend, though the focus remains on shared experience rather than conventional performance.

Please bring your own lunch. Suitable for dancers and movers of all levels. Children aged 12+ (with an interest in dance!) are also invited to come along for free with a full paying adult.
