Within artistic roller skating there are several disciplines:

• Dance (solo)
• Dance (couple)
• Freestyle (individuals performing jumps and spins)
• Pairs (a subset of freestyle with two people performing jumps, spins, and lifts)
• Figures (similar to compulsory or "school" figures on ice)
• Precision (team skating, similar to synchronized skating on ice)
• Show teams

Regent Skating Club focuses on the dance discipline within the sport. Progress is monitored through national proficiency tests and once skaters are competent enough, and wish to, they can compete in UK National competitions.

Skating is fun, great for your posture and core strength, and for making friends. Some of Regent Skating Club's members skate just for fun, whilst some skate at national and international level.

Regent Skating Club came into being when the first roller rink was introduced at Fort Regent back in 1979. These days, the club skate at Les Quennevais Sports Centre, with over 60 members!
